Go Green – Take Caltrain to the Emerald Bowl on Dec. 28
College football fans headed to the sixth annual Emerald Bowl at AT&T Park in San Francisco, on Friday, Dec. 28, can save the planet and their sanity by leaving the driving to Caltrain.
The Oregon State Beavers and the Maryland Terrapins will meet for the first time when they clash in Emerald Bowl VI. The game, which will be televised live by ESPN, is the only bowl game to match Pac-10 and Atlantic Coast Conference teams.
Caltrain’s regular weekday service offers a number of trains arriving at the San Francisco station in plenty of time for the 5:30 p.m. kickoff.
Caltrain will operate a special train that will depart the San Francisco station 20 minutes after the game, or when full. Regularly scheduled trains offer a variety of departure times from San Francisco until 12:01 a.m., leaving fans plenty of time to celebrate before heading home.
Caltrain does not allow open alcohol containers on trains after 9 p.m. following a special event. Passengers who are considerate and responsible may bring open containers on all regular trains before 9 p.m. Disruptive passengers will be asked to detrain. For Caltrain schedules and fares, call 1.800.660.4287 (TTY 650.508.6448)
