Caltrain Seeks San Francisco Resident for Advisory Committee

Caltrain is soliciting applications to fill one vacancy on its Citizens Advisory Committee. Applicants for this vacancy must be residents of San Francisco.

The CAC is comprised of nine volunteer members from the three counties that jointly operate Caltrain, who serve in an advisory capacity to the board of directors, providing input on the needs of current and potential rail customers. The CAC meets the third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Caltrain’s headquarters in San Carlos, just one block from the San Carlos Caltrain Station. All meetings are open to the public.

Caltrain operates 96 commuter trains each weekday between San Francisco and San Jose, with commute-hour service to Gilroy, and hourly weekend service between San Jose and San Francisco. Last year Caltrain carried more than 10 million riders, and currently it carries an average weekday ridership of nearly 39,000 trips.
