Caltrain Rocks The Bells And Whistles To Hip-Hop Concert

Hip-hop enthusiasts headed to the Rock the Bells concert in San Francisco on Saturday, Aug. 18, should hop on Caltrain to the ultimate urban music experience.

The San Francisco Caltrain Station is a short walk from the concert venue at the McCovey Cove Parking Lot, next to AT&T Park. Caltrain service makes it flexible and easy to avoid the hassle and expense of driving and parking.

Caltrain offers hourly service on the weekends. An express train to San Carlos will leave approximately 15 minutes after the conclusion of the event, or when full, and will make all local stops from San Carlos to San Jose Diridon. A second train will leave 25 minutes after the concert, or when full, and serve all local stops to San Jose Diridon. The last regular Saturday train leaves San Francisco at 12:01 a.m.

No alcohol consumption will be allowed on the southbound trains beginning at 9 p.m. following the concert.

The Rock the Bells concert features a massive indoor/outdoor festival complete with traditional vendor booths. Rock the Bells has established a forum for uniting some the biggest names in hip-hop and urban culture. Performers for the San Francisco show include Wu-Tang Clan, Cypress Hill, The Roots, Nas, Mos Def and Rage Against the Machine.

Caltrain is a Proof-of-Purchase system and requires passengers to purchase tickets before boarding. Tickets are not sold on board trains but can be purchased at vending machines at the stations or at the San Francisco or San Jose ticket offices.
