Caltrain Revs Up to Take Fans to the San José Grand Prix
Caltrain beats the competition when it comes to avoiding traffic and parking hassles for the third annual San Jose Grand Prix, July 27-29. Race fans of all ages will appreciate world-class open-wheel action on the streets of downtown San Jose, with speeds reaching nearly 200 miles per hour.
Speed-junkies have a number of different trains to choose from to get to the race track. Caltrain offers frequent regular weekday service to San Jose, and convenient hourly service on Saturdays. Once at the San Jose Diridon Caltrain Station, passengers can transfer to the VTA light rail system to take them downtown to the race course.
In addition to the racing, festivities include live music, comedy performances, driver autograph sessions, free style motocross and the mini Grand Prix featuring professional remote control race cars.
Whether you're coming from San Francisco or traveling from the Peninsula, Caltrain knows the way to the starting line. For more information about schedules or fares, call 1.800.660.4287.
