Caltrain roars into San Francisco for KFOG Kaboom Celebration
Peninsula residents can take advantage of
extra train service to accommodate riders
going to San Francisco for the 13th annual
KFOG KaBoom
celebration on Saturday, May 12,
from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. Caltrain will add
capacity to its northbound trains departing
San Jose, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., to
accommodate extra crowds headed to the event.
From the San Francisco Caltrain Station
at Fourth and King streets, passengers
can board the outbound Muni T-Third line
and take a short trip to Brannan Street.
The entrance to the KaBoom celebration
will be right across the street on
Piers 30/32.
This year’s KaBoom will feature a range
of performances for children and adults
on several stages, as well as food,
vendors and of course the legendary
fireworks display at the end of
the evening.
Following the fireworks, Caltrain will
operate three special trains in addition
to its regular service. The first special
will depart San Francisco at 10:20 p.m.
and express to San Carlos before making
all remaining local weekend stops to the
San Jose Diridon station. The second
and third special service trains will
depart San Francisco at 10:30 p.m. and
10:40 p.m., and make all local weekend
stops to San Jose Diridon. Caltrain's
last Saturday train from San Francisco
departs at 12:01 a.m., making all local
weekend stops.
