Ken Yeager Rejoins The Caltrain Board
Santa Clara County Supervisor Ken Yeager was
reappointed to the Caltrain board today after a brief
hiatus from the rail line’s three-county policy board.
Members of the Caltrain board are appointed to
represent various agencies. A San Jose City
Councilman before his election to the Board of
Supervisors last year, Yeager had formerly
represented the Santa Clara Valley Transportation
Authority at Caltrain in his capacity as a city official.
He returned to Caltrain today as a county
representative on the regional Metropolitan
Transportation Commission, on which he
also serves.
Yeager said he had enjoyed working with
members of the Caltrain board, which he had
chaired last year, and was glad to rejoin his
colleagues and rail agency staff.
Among the accomplishments during his tenure
as chair, Caltrain enjoyed dramatic ridership
growth and began the first steps to set the
railroad on a course to become a true rapid
transit system by 2025.
The Caltrain board has nine members, with
representatives from each of the three
counties through which the rail service
operates – San Francisco, San Mateo
and Santa Clara.
The Caltrain board meets the first Thursday
of each month at 10 a.m. at its headquarters,
1250 San Carlos Ave. in San Carlos, two blocks
from the train station.
