Caltrain Offers Extra Service To Weekend Events
With a Giants home stand on the schedule and the KFOG KaBoom concert and fireworks show, San Francisco is the place to be this weekend. Bumper-to-bumper traffic and big city parking hassles are a pain of the past thanks to Caltrain running extra service. All the fun takes place just a few blocks from the San Francisco station.
The Giants will throw the first pitch at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Caltrain will operate two special post-game trains on both days. An extra train will be added to the schedule to get fans to the park by 12:16 p.m. After the game, an express train to San Carlos will leave approximately 15 minutes after the last out or when full and will make all local stops after San Carlos to the San Jose Diridon station. The second train will leave 25 minutes after the game or when full, and serve all local stops to San Jose.
KaBoom starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 13. Going into the city, there will be additional capacity on trains 439, 441 and 443. After the fireworks, Caltrain will run two special trains. At 10:15 p.m., an express to San Carlos, and then local stops to San Jose Diridon, will whisk fans home. An extra local train will depart at 10:25 p.m.
Riders are reminded that alcoholic beverages are prohibited on trains leaving San Francisco beginning at 9 p.m.
