Caltrain Working Two Weekends At Hillsdale Station
Caltrain crews will be working around-the-clock
during the next two weekends, which will affect
boarding at both the Hillsdale and Hayward Park
stations in San Mateo.
As part of the ongoing reconstruction of the
Hillsdale station, crews will be replacing
defective wooden ties, as well as installing
a section of median fence in the Hillsdale station.
Caltrain will be running trains on a single
track in the area from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3,
through Feb. 5 and again from 9 p.m. Friday,
Feb. 10 through Feb. 12.
During the Feb. 3-5 period, passengers will
board all trains on the northbound platform
at both stations. At the Hillsdale station,
they will need to buy or validate tickets on
the southbound side of the station before
crossing to the correct platform.
On the Feb. 10-12 weekend, the work will
be happening on the northbound track, so
passengers will board all trains on the
southbound track.
A track machine each weekend will replace
approximately 500 ties, after which other
equipment will realign the supporting
ballast (rock) and the tracks.
