Caltrain to Take Tennis Fans to SAP Open
Caltrain is just the ticket for people headed to the SAP Open at the HP Pavilion at
San Jose Feb. 7-13, offering convenient service and unmatched proximity to the action
on the tennis court.
Tennis enthusiasts attending the SAP Open can avoid both the hassle of freeway driving
and the cost of arena parking by taking Caltrain instead.
Caltrain offers half-hourly service midday on weekdays and frequent evening service to
the San Jose Diridon station, which is located across the street from HP Pavilion.
The midday weekday schedule includes a number of limited-stop trains, offering riders
a quicker trip than on local trains, and tennis fans traveling during the commute-hour
also may be able to take advantage of Baby Bullet service. Caltrain offers mostly
hourly service on weekends.
For Caltrain schedules and fares, go to www.caltrain.com or call 1.800.660.4287 (TOD
only 650.508.6448). Tickets must be purchased or validated at the station before
boarding the train.
Caltrain is a tri-county partnership of San Francisco Municipal Railway, San Mateo
County Transit District and Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. Caltrain
operates 86 weekday trains between San Francisco and San Jose, with commute-hour
service to Gilroy. A total of 62 trains offer service on weekends.
