Upcoming Caltrain Maintenance and Construction

Belmont:
Crews will continue working on a project to replace ties between Hillsdale and Belmont. Crews are replacing 475 ties between mile post 20.5 and 21.3. To avoid train delays, the work will take place from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., Monday to Thursday. There will be noise from heavy equipment used to take out the old ties, put in new ties, and then tamp down the ties with a “tamper.”

Redwood City:
Crews will be working near the tracks in Redwood City on Thursday, Nov. 10 and Friday, Nov. 11. Workers will be using construction equipment to lay conduit near Maple St. between 10:30 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. The work is being done in preparation for a larger project to rehabilitate the railroad bridge. Crews will be using a back hoe and lights as well as equipment to pack down the dirt.

Sunnyvale and Santa Clara:
Crews will be replacing ties between Sunnyvale and Santa Clara. Crews will be replacing ties from mile post 37.5 and mile post 44.2. To avoid train delays, the work will take place from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., Monday to Thursday. There will be noise from heavy equipment used to take out the old ties, put in new ties, and then tamp down the ties with a “tamper.”
