Caltrain Details Game Plan for July 31 & Aug. 1 Baseball

Caltrain is adjusting service to get baseball fans to SBC Park for two evening weekend games, July 31 and Aug. 1.

Saturday, July 31

In addition to the regular trains departing the San Jose Diridon station at 4 p.m. and
5 p.m., Caltrain will run special trains leaving at 3:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.

They will make all regular local stops, arriving at Caltrain’s San Francisco Terminal at 5:21 p.m. and 6:21 p.m., in time for the 7:15 p.m. San Francisco Giants game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

In addition to its regular southbound service after the game, Caltrain will operate an express train to San Carlos, which leaves approximately 15 minutes after the end of the KNBR/Giants Fan Fest fireworks show. That train makes all local stops after San Carlos.

A second train will leave San Francisco 25 minutes after the fireworks or when full and will make all stops to San Jose.

Caltrain’s 10:00 p.m. train also will be available to take people home from the post-game fireworks show at Pier 48.

Sunday, Aug. 1

For the 5:05 p.m. start time for the Aug. 1 game with St. Louis, Caltrain’s two baseball specials will depart San Jose Diridon station at 1:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m., arriving in San Francisco at 3:21 p.m. and 4:21 p.m. respectively.

Return express service to San Carlos, with local service to San Jose, departs 15 minutes after the last out, followed by a second special train which leaves 25 minutes after the last out, or when full.

On weekends, Caltrain makes the connection for most trains between the San Jose Diridon and the Tamien stations by means of a shuttle bus.
