Soccer Fans Will Score a G-O-O-O-A-A-A-L by Taking Caltrain on July 23

Peninsula soccer fans going to the match between the Boca Juniors and Club America at SBC Park on July 23 can be in their seats long before the announcer shouts g-o-o-o-a-a-a-l thanks to Caltrain.

Boca Juniors, the current World Club champions, is the most popular team in Argentina. Club America is one of the most popular teams in Mexico, with 13 league titles and six cup titles.

A Baby Bullet express train will depart the San Jose Diridon Caltrain Station at 5:45 p.m., stopping at the Mountain View, Palo Alto, Hillsdale and Millbrae stations, before arriving in San Francisco at 6:44 p.m.

Caltrain’s regular half-hourly service includes trains arriving at the San Francisco station at 7:12 p.m., 7:18 p.m. and 7:44 p.m., in plenty of time for the 8 p.m. game.

After the game, Caltrain offers hourly departures from San Francisco, between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Caltrain also will operate two special trains, an express train to San Carlos, which will leave 15 minutes after the game or when full; and a local train which will leave 25 minutes after the game or when full.
