Caltrain to Work on Tracks at Night
Caltrain will be using heavy maintenance machinery on the tracks this week and
next to “tamp” and “regulate” the track, which raises the outside rails and levels
the track to allow trains to maintain a smooth ride on the line and speed on curves.
The work is scheduled to take place between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., when the
majority of train service isn’t operating. The following are locations on the rail
line where the work is scheduled to take place through Thursday, June 17.
- Wednesday, June 9: near Holly Street in San Carlos;
- Thursday, June 10: between Tilton and Bellevue avenues in San Mateo;
- Friday, June 11: at the Bellevue Avenue road crossing in San Mateo;
- Thursday, June 17: just south of the City of San Mateo to Ralston Avenue in
Belmont;
- Sunday, June 13: north and south of 42nd Avenue in Belmont and San Mateo; and
- Monday, June 14 – Wednesday, June 16: from 9th to 42nd avenues in San Mateo.
This schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. Caltrain regrets
any inconvenience this may cause.
