Caltrain to Hold Public Hearing on Peninsula Pass
Caltrain will hold a public hearing regarding the elimination of the Peninsula Pass
and introduction of a discounted Muni sticker.
The hearing will take place Thursday, Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. at Caltrain’s administrative
offices.
The new Muni sticker would allow Caltrain passengers to use Muni’s services but
wouldn’t incorporate other Bay Area transit services as the Peninsula Pass did. The
cost would be $35, $10 less than the Peninsula Pass.
SamTrans and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority allow customers
presenting a two-zone or greater Caltrain Monthly Pass to receive a local fare credit
on each agency’s transit services.
Comments on the proposed changes, which also include administrative updates to the
codified tariff, will be accepted through Nov. 3 at 4 p.m.
Members of the public can comment on the proposed changes by attending the public
hearing, calling 1.800.660.4287 (for the hearing-impaired call 650.508.6448),
by sending comments through the Caltrain Web site or by mailing comments to Caltrain
Board Secretary, Caltrain Administrative Offices, 1250 San Carlos Ave., San Carlos, CA
94070.
