Caltrain Extends Deadline for Timetable Comment
Deadline Extended to November 28.
Additional information for online draft timetable:
- Caltrain is working closely with other local transportation providers to offer
the best connections possible. As a result, train times may be adjusted to
connect with other services.
- The weekend schedule, which will return with the implementation of the new
timetable, will provide hourly service both Saturday and Sunday. However, Sunday
will be a slightly shorter service day.
Caltrain is holding six public meetings to receive input on the proposed timetable
changes, which includes the extensive overhaul of the Caltrain weekday timetable. The
new timetable (PDF, 27.2 KB) includes Baby
Bullet express, limited-stop and local service changes. (For legibility, PDF should be
configured to legal or larger size paper.) It also includes a new schedule for
weekend service
(Option A, PDF, 18.2 KB;
Option B, PDF, 19.1 KB).
The new timetable is expected to take effect in spring 2004, following the completion
of the CTX construction project. The construction project is the largest railroad
improvement program Caltrain has ever undertaken and includes the construction of
additional tracks in three key areas along the corridor, as well as the installation
of Centralized Train Control, a new signaling system giving Caltrain dispatchers
increased operational flexibility and efficiency.
