Caltrain Citizens Advisory Committee to Meet in Santa Clara

The Caltrain Citizens Advisory Committee will hold its May 21 meeting in the Santa Clara Caltrain Station's historic depot at 6 p.m.

The committee typically meets on the third Wednesday of the month at Caltrain's administrative offices in San Carlos. But the advisory committee, like the Caltrain Board of Directors, hosts two off-site meetings annually, one in San Francisco and one in Santa Clara County.

By hosting these meetings in a variety of locations, the CAC hopes to increase community interest in Caltrain services in Santa Clara and San Francisco counties.

The CAC is comprised of nine representatives from various segments of the community and acts in an advisory capacity to the tri-county Caltrain policy board. Responsibilities include providing input on the needs of current and potential transit users. Committee members, which are appointed by the board, serve three-year terms.

The committee provides passenger input on policy issues before Caltrain's Board of Directors.

The Santa Clara station is located on Railroad Avenue at Franklin Street just off the El Camino Real.
