Caltrain to "Trick or Track" for Rail Safety With Area Students
Who:
Costumed Caltrain staff members, along with the San Mateo County Sheriff's
Department and Amtrak Police, are taking the message of railroad safety to several
nearby schools on Halloween.
What:
Members of the media are invited to attend one of Caltrain's Halloween safety
events. Caltrain will promote rail safety during the "trick or treating" season by
handing out goody bags to students at three schools along the Caltrain rail corridor.
The Halloween safety bags include reflective stickers and zipper-pulls to make kids
more visible at night, Operation Lifesaver goodies and Halloween candy.

- Nesbit School, 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Why:
Caltrain is continuously working to educate the public about railroad safety.
Caltrain hosts safety events throughout the year, gives safety presentations at area
schools, and is a certified member of California Operation Lifesaver, an educational
program aimed at eliminating collisions, deaths and injuries at street and rail
intersections and along the railroad right of way.
