Caltrain is a proof-of-purchase system, which
means tickets are NOT sold on the train.
Passengers must have a valid ticket before
boarding the train and must show their ticket
to a conductor or fare inspector upon request.
Those without a valid ticket may be cited and fined.
Caltrain serves 30 stations between San
Francisco and Gilroy. Only the San Francisco
and San Jose Diridon stations are staffed
with ticket clerks. Stations are equipped
with Ticket Vending Machines, and most
stations offer both parking and bicycle access.
